Daffodil Farm and Kenfig Hill Nature Reserve First Prize Museum of Wales
| On Tuesday, March 30, Mrs O'Connell's and Miss Jones' mathhs groups along with children from Mrs Davies' class went to the Welsh daffodil farm near Bridgend. |
We also went to Kenfig Nature Reserve. We went because we came first in the Climate Change Project run by the National Museum of Wales. |
|
| Mr Richard Arnold, the farmer, met us in Ewenny and took us to one of his fields on the daffodil farm. |
The farm was 10 acres in size and full of daffodils.
| There were over a million daffodils! |
He told us how they picked green daffodils and sent the daffodils to shops in refridgerated vans.
| We were given half and hour to pick as many daffodils as we could carry to take home. It was very cold and wet and muddy but we had great fun. |
Next, we got on the bus and went to Kenfig Nature Reserve. |
|
| After lunch we identified bugs under a microscope ... |
... and took part in a quiz. |
|
| Then we walked around the nature reserve. It was still very wet and cold. |
We took part in relay races. We saw a swan on the lake and some of us slipped and fell in the mud! |
|
| We were back in school by half two. We gave daffodils to all the staff. We had a fantastic time. |
