In one of the lower junior classes we used ‘Have you seen the Crocodile?’ as a model to produce short plays which were then written up. The simple text is all about predators and prey:

“Have you seen the fox?”

asked the rabbit

“No.” said the lamb

“Have you seen the fox ?”

asked the rabbit and the lamb

“No.” said the chicken

“Have you seen the fox ?”

asked the lamb and the rabbit  and the chicken

“No.” said the duck

“No-one's seen the fox!”

Said the lamb and the rabbit and the chicken and the duck

But then . . .

“I'VE SEEN THE FOX!” barked the fox.

“Have you seen the lamb, the rabbit, the chicken and the duck?”

asked the fox.
