What do you do on a cold snowy day when over half the school have stayed are home in their cosy warm beds?  You go to school and enjoy yourselves making snowmen and eating warm toast in the Lighthouse Café!  The teachers helped by making the toast and serving us.

Pentrepoeth Junior School was open on Feb 4th and the children and staff had a great day enjoying the snow.  It wasn’t all play, after making the snowmen and enjoying throwing snow in the air the children wrote group poems about their morning.  There is always some catch isn’t there!!  Prizes were awarded for the best snowmen and the best poems in a celebration assembly in the afternoon.

The snow was soft and slippery
All the children playing.
Building snow men.
Rolling balls.
Hands as cold as ice.
The snow was crunchy, damp and cold.
We couldn't feel our feet !
We didn't mind at all
Because we were having fun.

Yetis jumping out at us?
But when I looked
It was just a tree - covered all with snow .

It hasn't snowed for18 years,
We hope it comes again.
So that we can play, run and jump
In the snow once more.
