Thursday 25 September.  Pentrepoeth Junior School visited Swansea Museum and the Dylan thomas Theatre to learn about coal mining in the Victorian period.

We dressed up in Victorian costumes.

We learnt about 'King Coal' and how it was used in Copperopolis to make the copper ingots.

We read some short plays about life underground and the dangers of working in the mines.

We learnt about the camaraderie of the miners and the mining communities.

We learnt about how dirty the work was!

We didn't fancy having a bath in front of the fire where we had to heat the water in kettles and saucepans!

Anyone could walk into the room!!

Then we went to see Theatr Na Nog.

It was brilliant!
